In his new CD, Water In The West, Ed reminds us that traveling is something that brings out the life that is all around us, and that we often forget about. It’s a place of wide open spaces, nature and a chance to find ourselves. For example in the featured song, Driving Nebraska, he reminds us of how we can once again be independent and fun loving selves with our friends in the freedom of getting away from our problems and doing what we want.
But while traveling provides a sense of freedom and adventure, it is also a time where we provide the strength and support that others need when they are in trouble as Ed talks about in the song, Oregon. And regardless of our experiences, the hardest part of any traveling as he talks about in Leaving Colorado is that time when we have to leave behind all the people and places we have grown attached to.
Throughout our lives we frequently look for our true selves. To rediscover other aspects of ourselves that have been forgotten or put away. Who knew that the journey to rediscovering them starts by getting behind the wheel and driving past the city limits?
